Descrição

A structured four-month English course for candidates preparing for the CACD examination.

The course combines live teaching, recorded classes, weekly TPS practice and individual feedback on written work. With a small group of between 6 and 16 students, participants receive consistent guidance throughout the programme.

Dates and classes

The course runs from 29 August to 19 December 2026.

Live Zoom classes take place on Saturday afternoons, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Brasília time with Prof’ Shaun.

There are 17 live classes. All classes are recorded and made available to enrolled students for review or in case they cannot attend live.

What the course includes

  • 17 live and recorded Zoom classes
  • 18 weekly TPS exercises, with approximately 15–28 items each
  • Approximately 12 Language Study explanations and exercises
  • 5 full compositions, corrected individually
  • 4 composition plans, reviewed individually
  • 5 full translations into English, corrected individually
  • 5 short translations, mainly discussed in class
  • 14 individually reviewed assignments in total
  • A final individual progress report

Depending on the group’s needs and the time available, the course may also include selected work on translation into Portuguese and summary writing.

Weekly study

Each week, students will normally:

  • Attend the live class or watch the recording
  • Complete a TPS exercise
  • Study the assigned language material
  • Complete a composition, composition plan or translation when scheduled
  • Review and apply the feedback received

Students should allow approximately 4–7 hours per week, including the live class.

Individual feedback

Students receive personal feedback on 14 written assignments. Corrections identify strengths, recurring problems and priorities for further improvement.

At the end of the course, each student receives a brief progress report with recommendations for continued study.

English level and diagnostic

This is an advanced examination-preparation course, rather than a general English course. A strong B2 level, preferably approaching C1, is recommended.

After enrolling, students complete an initial diagnostic test on Moodle. This is not a pass-or-fail admission test. It is used to identify each student’s strengths and areas requiring further development.

Class size

The course has a maximum of 16 students and requires a minimum of 6 confirmed enrolments.

The group will be confirmed by 20 August 2026. If the minimum number is not reached, all payments will be refunded in full.

Course investment

The total course investment is R$3,090, paid as follows:

  • R$1,490 upon enrolment
  • R$400 on 10 September 2026
  • R$400 on 10 October 2026
  • R$400 on 10 November 2026

Instructions for making each monthly payment will be sent before its due date.
